Time to wake up - time for French toast! We are in no hurry and my boss wanders a short distance around the hotel:
At 1 pm the bus to shuttle us to Montpelier, ID arrives. The bicycles go into the Cycle America van.
A group of Japanese tourists ask my boss to take a picture of them (selfies did not excist yet!).
We have to take the van back to the airport, which is the meeting point for Cycle America. But first things first: fetch Sweet Machine.
From a corner my woman observes cyclists dropping in - you cannot miss them with their big boxes!
By the way - my woman chuckles when she hears the Americans say the word Montpelier. We pronounce it the French way, but there is also an "American way": Montpielje!
My woman gets a seat next to Marge who wants to entertain my boss with her life story. Meanwhile my boss tries to keep an eye on the scenery: a nice canyon we drive through, the view of Bear Lake at the top and then the flat along the lake until we reach Montpelier, Idaho!
Although there was no sign of any Cycle America staff members, the bus drops all the riders of ... it seems for us in the middle of nowhere. We're not even sure this is the right place.
Finally the van with the bicycles arrives! Time to get Sweet Machine out of its box - no damage!
My boss is getting tired (time difference) and doesn't feel like sleeping in the tent tonight. It's going to be the gym!
We hear that the leader of Cycle America, Gregg and some other staff members have trouble with their van. It will take a while before they get here.
At last - 9 pm - the first ever meeting of Cycle America! While my boss is too tired to listen very carefully, I try to pick up all the details about how things work. I'll tell her tomorrow as she wakes up.
